As its title suggests, is a compilation released in celebration of 's golden anniversary. That's the reason for its existence, the reason why it joins a long line of hits compilations -- a list that includes 's excellent 2001 set . At 16 tracks, isn't as generous as its Y2K predecessor, but among the excised tracks are some tunes that were new at the time of its 2001 release, so they're not noticed. The absent cuts that are missed date from the band's soft new wave makeover of the early '80s -- "The Border" and "Right Before Your Eyes" are MIA -- and while it would've been nice to have them here, "You Can Do Magic" did make the cut and provides a nice conclusion to a set that marches through the expected, enduring hits ("A Horse With No Name," "I Need You," "Ventura Highway," "Muskrat Love," "Tin Man," "Sister Golden Hair"). ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine
