features no less than seven versions of the album's biggest hit, "Playgirl," ranging from
Felix da Housecat
's chic reworking to
Simian
's sea shanty-like interpretation. The rest of the collection swings between stylish and off-kilter, with each approach delivering about the same amount of hits and misses. Highlights include
Bertrand Burgalat
's "He Took Her to a Movie" remix, which adds an extra dose of seedy glamour to the proceedings, and "Holiday 601," which became the
Light & Magic
track "NuHorizons." Meanwhile, oddities like "Miss Black" (from the band's debut EP,
Miss Black and Her Friends
) and the jazzy
Commodore Rock
