Darwin was a believer in phyletic gradualism, a modern term for his natural selection and modification of species. He repeatedly brought out cases showing difficulties in continuing to accept notions of special creation, but like all writers trying to cover a vast subject, he left inadvertent evidences of both pros and cons to his own theory in his extensive writing. Fortunately, he summarized his main points at the beginning of each chapter of his book, and from these we have an idea of what he considered most important. We have found, on close inspection, that every chapter presenting his arguments is prefaced by innumerable 'ifs." He hammers repeatedly that if any of the contemporary objections to his hypothesis is true, "it would be fatal to my theory." We believe that such is the case, for he has convinced no one of this "one long argument" except those who were predisposed to believe it before they ever opened his book. The purpose of this book is to refute Darwin's by showing the obvious superiority of Intelligent Design over the Theory of Evolution and to strengthen the faith that Christians have in the biblical record; particularly the literalness of the book of Genesis.
