As believers, we have the Holy Spirit who will give us abundant life. But does the Holy Spirit have us? The Holy Spirit not only puts the flesh to death, but sets us in God's family as children and joint-heirs with Christ. Adoption in the Roman culture caused the person to become full heirs to the new father's estate. We are no longer slaves, full of fear, but children with full covenant privileges.
