In this book Elwood examines the person, the teaching and the work of Jesus and its relevance to everyday life.
Commencing with the virgin birth, Elwood examines the evidence in the account Mary gave to Luke of her pregnancy, and judges it to be trueful and convincing. Elwood then explores a variety of over 30 topics relevant to the life and teaching of Jesus: His boyhood; the miracles; the calling of the disciples; Christ in the home; the denial of Peter and the betrayal of Judas, etc. Elwood shows how these can enrich and give purpose in the lives of those who follow Him, and how the death and resurrection of Jesus can transform the lives and the futures of those who commit themselves to following Him.
In his writings Elwood never claims absolute proof, freely admitting that there can always be other explanations, but he commends the seeking of further evidence as an indication of honest doubt.
In addition to sixty years in medical research, Elwood and his wife Margaret were involved in Bible teaching, and for a period of 14 years they led a growing Baptist Church in Pontypridd, South Wales.
In 2012 Prince Charles - now King Charles III, awarded Elwood an OBE for 'Services to Health'.
