This book came about because Blue Cross registered nurses and friends requested that I write a book recording some of my stories. I wanted to record some family facts for my children, while others wanted me to tell about my life and a bit about me. There is only going to be one book, so here it is -- a hodgepodge of unrelated life experiences about wonderful people with whom I have come in contact, the effect they had on my life, and the joy they brought me and I hope will bring you.
All one has to do is sit in a restaurant, physician's office, or hospital waiting room to find interesting people and hear interesting conversations and tales. I wish I had recorded more. Attempt has been made to write everything as stories and to let pictures and documents tell a story. Much of it is written to preserve history as well as to educate. Every attempt has been made to tell only the truth from personal experiences. Hopefully, fun has not been made of anyone but will let the reader enjoy friends as I have enjoyed them. The research process is primarily from the writer's brain, though some attempt has been made to document dates. Pictures speak better than words, so some of the stories are presented only in picture form.
Life has been wonderful, and I hope to preserve some of it for anyone interested. I must sincerely thank Linda (Brogden) Palmer, Jacquelyn (Hodges) Earnest, and Gerrie (Fowler) Hansford for editing, helping with pictures, listening to me, and Gerrie for living with me through the process.
It has been a fun task. Hope you will enjoy an unusual book by an unusual person.
