The series of releases juxtaposes picturesque views of key landmarks with classical music on the soundtrack, the pieces chosen for their relevance to the city or region on display. As the title suggests, this particular release transports the audience to Rome, Italy -- that Eternal City among cities and the home to so many generations of Caesars. The milieux on display predominantly include ancient Roman buildings and locales, such as Trajan's Forum, the Piazza di Spagna, the Trevi Fountain, and St. Peter's Square. The music on the soundtrack emerged from the pen of Hungarian Franz Liszt (1811-1886), known for spending a great deal of time during his last 25 years in Rome, where he developed and explored his interest in the music of the Roman Catholic Church.
