A Phase of Fixation' explores the mind of a teen boy who is rooted with misguided obsession and desire.Under the alias of Ragder Siliki, I wrote these poems over the space of a few years. At the time, I believed I was writing love poems, but in retrospect believe these to show myself as a boy who could not cope with infatuation. This is a common experience for people during their teen years; to revolve their entire attention around a yearning to be with someone. Through an introspective outlook, these poems capture the deep emotions which many teens keep to themselves and demonstrate the dubious attitudes which we exhibit at this age. What I hope readers will achieve from this series is an understanding of the irrational manner which they may be putting themselves through. For me, it was only when I had read back my own words that I had realised just how trivial these emotions were and I hope this is a lesson which others can reflect upon.
