The residents of Emmie Town, Iowa are regular, small-town people just trying to get by. Their closest connection to the outside world is an ambulance ride 20 minutes down a country road. Unless, of course, they want to risk the trek down the abandoned trail just over the creek. But no one takes the trail into the forest, and if they do, they become yet another missing person's report in the Emmie Town records. Most people remain oblivious to the forest's existence, obeying the warning signs plastered in front of the entrance. Some of the residents, however, have grown accustomed to the cadaver-eating forest, using it for their own personal benefit. A 'not-so-innocent' grandmother uses it as a reliable alibi when a cop comes around asking questions, and it's a convenient hiding place for a housewife's meaty little secret. It's a nice hideout for a nest of vampires who just so happened to love bowling, and a potential escape-plan for a police officer wanted for murder. The following short stories depict the deepest, darkest sins of these and many other Emmie Town residents. There's murder. There's cannibalism. There's horrors from your most memorable nightmares. Readers beware.
