Praxidike and her sister have lived with the royal family of the neighboring kingdom for a year now with no trouble. She is enjoying being courted by a reluctant prince soon to take the throne. One night, however, everything changes when a malicious creature chooses her to be its host, intending to take advantage of her undiscovered magic for its own personal gain. This event is the beginning of what becomes a journey of death, discovery, and change for Praxidike and the people around her. She feels all hope is lost, causing her to fall into a spiral and constant questioning on whether or not she can trust this unnamed voice.
