There is a point in any revival when the direction of the Church changes and the focus shifts. This is the most critical point of the entire process because it determines whether or not the seeds of revival will take root or not. This is when the Church turns from being inwardly focused to being burdened with the desperate commission to win souls.
The Gospel is not about us; it is about others. When we finally realize that, we turn a corner toward the true focus of revival - the Great Commission. Our sails fill with the new winds of revival that blow us toward our destiny as we answer the call of the greatest cause of all time.
These winds of change never come easy for we are old winebottles set in our old ways. Repentance comes hard, but it has to be hard in order to be sincere. Obligatory altar calls will not do. Only broken hearts of desperate repentance will be enough to turn the ship around that corner.
