Amar Ath Cheikh et la genése de la Revolution en Haute Kabylie. Des 1945 Amar Ait Cheikh militant de l'indépendance, il entre au maquis en 1947. il se fait remarquer par de nombreux attentats dans la région de Michelet, contre les forces d'occupation françaises. Il tombe en martyr, les armes a la main, le 11 Aout 1956 au village Ibelkissen avec ses compagnons de combat, lors d'un grand ratissage.
Amar Ait Cheikh devait assurer la sécurité du congrès de la Soummam, et être promu colonel, en tant que responsable de la Wilaya 3 historique. A sa mort le colonel Amirouche lui succédera.
