The resistance continues to attack the Russian army occupying Lithuania, and it's looking grim. Their numbers are dwindling. Supplies are low. The Russians are hunting the freedom fighters and killing them off. Cell leader Ludmelia Kudirka knows it's only a matter of time before they find . In desperation, Ludmelia undertakes one last mission. Collaborating with Polish partisans, she seeks to get a resistance leader out through the Iron Curtain to plea for help from the West. But they have to travel through a countryside teeming with Soviet patrols to reach the border with Poland. New recruit Anton Dubus knows the area well and joins them to help.
