This booklet, originally published in 1680, contains the account of the trials of Francis Smith and Jane Curtis for libel. Smith's crime was publishing a satirical set of observations on the trial of Sir George Wakeman, who had been falsely accused in a "Popish Plot." These observations were published using the pseudonym "Tom Ticklefoot," and became an important document contributing to the freedom of the press and the cause of American Liberty almost a century later.
