Anya travels through an arid terrain as she seeks what the voices are imploring her to find. She is in a time of unknown; a place that was once green and healthy. As she travels, the wind pushing, the voices urging, she comes upon a walled compound in the middle of nowhere. Here she seeks to find a way in and comes upon a door that has no knob, no rope to pull. Within the covered area just outside the door she experiences changes that give her moments of spiritual peace and physical revelation, but still she cannot find her way beyond that door. Finally Anya sits down and leans against the rough wood of the door and pulls out a windpipe. This instrument is one of the few magical tools she has been given with which to protect herself. Anya doesn't know how she came by it; only that it has been with her from the time of her early childhood. Like all her other memories this one was foggy and very limited. She is aware of its power but had yet to understand how it works. After some misadventure with the windpipe, she succeeds in entering. It is the home of the one called the Gatekeeper and here that Anya begins to unlock the secrets that she has hid from herself, secrets that can help or destroy her. She is uneasy in the home of the Gatekeeper, where she is held not as a hostage, but a guest with limited access to the house. Having encountered her host only once, Anya is uncertain if he is friend or foe, for he disappears for long periods of time. Here as she grows stronger physically things begin to happen. She experiences flashes of another time in which unseen souls torment her, seeking to make her remember. It is in one of the out of body experiences that she finds herself at a place called The Bridge Out of Time. It is also here that Anya is given her first assignment; her first chance at redemption for not only her, but others affected by her actions. So it is at this time that Anya is approached by the guide known as Master Simeon and willingly follows him into a past life in a small village in a place once known as Great Britain. There Anya finds herself in dire straits when she is taken by two members of the Restless People. Soon she gains their help in finding her way safely beyond of the clutches of a man name Lord Roland, one of many who seeks to stop her. Anya also receives help from a large white bird whom she is able to speak with and whom she calls Magnificent One. Clues are also delivered to her along the way from many different beings. She returns to a place where she had once lived with her uncle Rev. Allan Worchester, a secret member of the Circle of Infinity. It is here that her memories begin to awaken. It is here she will regain some of the mystical powers that had been denied her upon her return to this plane. Anya is given many glimpses in vision as to what is needed or why certain things have come into her possession. What she has yet to understand is how to put all those clues together and whether when she does if it is enough for her to move forward. It is vital that Anya regain her abilities to be the power she was meant to be. This is only the first of several lives in which she must succeed in order to be all powerful as she prepares to meet the nemeses who will do everything within his power to stop her.
