The purpose of this project is deeply rooted in the desire to offer a sense of history and knowledge to aspiring artists, enabling them to discover artists they may not have known and find their paths based on a solid understanding of those who have come before. "Artistic Legacies" is a coloring book series acknowledging the hard work and contributions of artists while also providing a platform for individuals, families, children, and the community to engage with and learn more about the rich history of African American artistry. The coloring book is a tribute and testament to the fact that acknowledging and celebrating our creative pioneers is an integral part of our artistic evolution. By featuring artists like David Driskell, Faith Rinngold, Richard Mayhew, and many more, we aim to foster inspiration and engagement, where we continue to celebrate and motivate many generations of artists to follow.
