Was the famous philosopher Plato a liar?
Plato, more than two thousand years ago, said that his description of Atlantis and how it had been swamped was true. Notwithstanding Plato's statement, many say that his description was simply a figment of his imagination and false. Plato said that the swamping of Atlantis occurred nine thousand years before him. This, historically, is also the beginning of the Holocene epoch; a time recognised by science as being an era of truly immense floods, powerful earthquakes and volcanism.
