This book contains my life stories, growing up with my sisters facing neglect and the insecurities of being poor and living through traumatic events. Despite our circumstances we survived and came out strong. There was alcoholism, physical abuse, drug abuse, and hardship.
Our grandparents contributed to keeping us from being on the street. We had an absent father who did not send money. I had four children and two failed marriages largely due to drugs and alcohol and mental instability. God watched over us and kept us safe. I became closer to God, and I had a spiritual awakening. Alcoholics Anonymous saved my life and became the center of my world. I started to give back what was so freely given to me.
Anything I put before my sobriety I will lose. Life on life's terms, I put one foot in front of the other. It's not always easy and I have to keep working on this program to stay sober. Each day is a new beginning. I experience heartbreak at the hands of a narcissist that changed me ultimately for the better. Learning to love myself and seek out healthier relationships.
