This fast-paced crime novel will leave the readers on the edges of their seats. Through this fictional story, comes the tale of a young Sicilian family in the teenage years of this great nation. The story of two brothers who lose the very essence of their being, their youth.
Birth of a Gangster
will take you through the lives of a Sicilian family who move to America to fulfill their dreams of better lives. Once here, the family finds that the term, better lives, is a matter of semantics. The new world is much different than the old country. Life is harder, the work is harder, but the money comes easier. Still, the freedom that they seek is everywhere if one is willing to work for it, yet it comes with a price.
The Black hand organization run the streets of their new neighborhood. The little Italy neighborhood on the south side of Omaha hasn't been the same since they moved in. They terrorize the neighborhood, extorting everyone and killing anyone who resists. This is a story of one man who falls short of his monthly payments. After a few months of nonpayment, he ends up paying the ultimate price, his life. Retaliation is a must, but who will stand against these thugs? Will the neighbors stand up against the organization and fight back, or will they roll over and continue to do nothing as murder and destruction flow through the neighborhood? Someone must stand up and stop them before it's too late and the entire neighborhood burns to the ground.
