I decided after many active years as a working artist in theater and film making that the choices actors have among published books of monologues and short two person scenes is very limited to "safe" and common well known selections from published and well known plays. This book will be unique and controversial selected voices from my unique and controversial work I've created over many years. As a playwright and producer, I have sat in on many auditions and find it so boring to hear the actors do the same old monologues over and over again. Many producers insist that the actor do a monologue from a well known play that is usually published by a well known theater bookstore. Blah, blah, blah, blah! Have any of you lovers of the dramatic arts ever wondered if there existed an alternative source of choices for published monologues to use when doing an audition for a play, class, film or just competitive dramatic Slams? Now if you've had the good sense to purchase this book, your wish has come true. Once the fire in your hair smolders down after reading these strange and out there works, will you have the nerve and courage to actually use one on a real audition?
