This is a collection of memories of growing up poor just to the left of the middle of nowhere in Coosa County Alabama. It relates such exciting pastimes as tree riding, doodle bug hunting, saving the earth from aliens under the porch and other pursuits that only a poor country boy could come up with. There are a few recollections about some of the influential people I met along the way also. Characters all. Food such as sugar biscuits and the urban legend of leftover bacon are discussed as eating was pretty much our only form of pleasure that was legal!
