Reinaldo Arenas was born in Holguín, Oriente, Cuba in 1943. On December 7, 1990, in exile, he
ended his life, blaming Fidel Castro for his decision, in a letter of testament that he wrote. He is
considered one of the best Cuban writers of the 20th century.
