Civic engagement is a concept that can be explained in several different ways. It is getting locals involved in politics and community affairs and training leaders from the grassroots level. I am writing this book to enlighten you all about the history of civic engagement and why it is so essential for us to understand and participate in it. I am very excited that you have chosen to read the book and hopefully take the first step in being our next community leaders and future state and regional-level politicians, and perhaps the head of state. It is my hope to get everyone reading this to have a discussion on community issues and work toward common goals. These conversations can lead to more significant ideas, and we can then tackle things together.
