Frank and Steve are Homicide Detectives, partners, and friends. They are asking themselves the same question every cop in San Francisco is asking - who is the Ghost, and why is he killing these women? His MO suggests a classic serial killer profile - an introverted psychotic with a below average IQ - he kills randomly, without motive, out of an uncontrollable, compulsive need. But Frank has been hunting the Ghost for two years, and Frank thinks the profile is wrong. Frank thinks he's an expert in police procedure and forensics, a highly intelligent, ruthless professional who kills in cold blood. The only trouble is, a pro' always has a motive, and the motive is always money. But the Ghost has no apparent motive. He kills randomly and indiscriminately. So, who is the Ghost, and why is he killing these women? Frank is about to find out, and what Frank finds out will turn his happy, ordered world upside down and inside out.
