Robert "Bubber" Johnson
was a good pianist and decent vocalist who had one spectacular hit in the mid-'50s, the song "Come Home." King slapped a bunch of his singles together and issued some albums in the late '50s to capitalize on both the single and his popularity as a touring artist. The results are some fine period piece items that are ideal if anyone wants an idea of how R&B sounded during the '50s.
Johnson
wasn't a great artist, but he made enjoyable and occasionally excellent singles. ~ Ron Wynn
