There are few artists as provocative as Bruce LaBruce, the incendiary queer punk auteur who is both admired and reviled across the globe. His endeavor to unite high and low culture (e.g. independent film and porn, high fashion and gore) seems like the execution of his own definition of glamour: the elegant union of two seemingly contradictory styles or ideologies. Parallel to his filmmaking and photography, LaBruce has been a prolific writer for decades in numerous media, publishing acid, intelligent and stark texts that oscillate between short stories, essays and reviews. Presented for the first time in Spanish, this volume brings together a selection of those texts, where the author's gaze offers us a portrait of the underground culture of the late 90s and early 00s, taking us from Julia Roberts to Dereck Jarman via Debbie Reynolds, River Phoenix and Gus Van Sant, as he recounts his experiences in places such as New York, Berlin, Toronto, Milan and Tel Aviv.
