In the advanced grades the library should be freely used to enrich and supplement the various subjects in the course, such as geography, science, history and literature. The children Of these grades Should be encouraged to take library books for home reading, and a given amount Of such reading Should be required throughout the session. To use the library effectively it must contain the classics adapted to the grade, and the teacher must be familiar with its contents, in order to direct the efforts Of the children along the proper channels.
