In the glamorous courts of Faerie, corruption hides in plain sight.
The Ancient vampiress Neala Firetree joined the expedition into Faerie's world of illusion and treachery to retrieve the remaining Fell Keys. Her strong mind and psychic powers become vital as she plunges into a new political arena. Accompanying her is the half-fae musician Cedric, whose touch wakes emotions she thought she'd long forgotten.
Cedric convinces Neala to help him search for the fae relatives he never knew. It leads them straight to a secretive organization keen on using him and Neala to stop Faerie from descending into civil war. While they search for the Keys, they are also tasked with finding another outsider manipulating the hearts and souls of Faerie's most disgruntled inhabitants.
At the heart of the conflict, Neala finds a familiar evil. When it sets its sights on Cedric, she fears for worse things than witnessing Faerie's fall. Will she be able to save him if it means endangering countless fae?
