Born in Bardstown, Kentucky, the youngest of six girls, Barbara Kilbourne lived there until the age of 6, at that point the family moved to an 87 acre farm in Southern Indiana. Barbara graduated high school in Salem, Indiana and spent three years at Asbury Christian College in Wilmore, Kentucky. She transferred to Georgia State University during her senior year where she graduated with a double major in Phycology and Sociology. At the age of 21, Barbara went to Officer's Training School for The Salvation Army in Atlanta, Georgia. As an officer she worked in Memphis and Knoxville, Tennessee and Danville, Kentucky. At the age 27 Barbara began work in the insurance industry where she meet her husband of Barbara has a 35 year old son who served in the Georgia National Guard and was stationed in Afghanistan for a year. Thankfully he came home safely although six members of his unit were killed. Barbara also has a 39 year old daughter who works in the insurance industry as well and has three grandchildren, 2 boys and 1 girl. Four years ago Barbara and her husband began attending New Hope First Baptist Church in Dallas, Georgia where they meet wonderful friends. They became members in April, 2011.
