Jury duty is the solemn responsibility of every citizen. Juries are the rock of the Criminal Justice System and provide the individual an opportunity not only to support and benefit from that system, but to participate in it as well. It was never intended, however, that the jury become its victim. In 1982, following six weeks of trial, a jury of seven men and five women convicted and sentenced to death, Alphonse Fabrizi, Pittsburgh's mob Godfather. Sixteen years later, those jurors are being systematically and brutally murdered. This tense fictional story follows Jake Steele, a private investigator, and Mel Tripp, a Pittsburgh Homicide Detective, through a complicated and dangerous investigation that changes the lives of both men forever. As a trial lawyer in hundreds of criminal jury trials, including more than 60 murder trials, Mr. Lewis is uniquely qualified to author a story such as Dark Covenant. During those years, he has had exposure to all types of witnesses and evidence Born and raised in Pittsburgh, Mr. Lewis completed his undergraduate work at Waynesburg College and received his law degree From Duquesne University Law School. In 2001, Mr. Lewis retired from the practice of law to devote full time to his writing.
