Volume 20 (236 pages) is in honor of Gerard K. O'Neill (1927-1992). One question Dr. O'Neill attempted to answer was "Is the surface of a planet really the right place for an expanding technological civilization?" Eight of the thirteen chapters are related to this question (or to Dr. O'Neill). Five of the thirteen chapters are related to other important topics. The anthology's chapters (by professional philosophers and other scholars and professionals) are directed to issues related to death, life extension, and anti-death, broadly construed. The contributions consist of relevant reprints as well as scholarship unique to this volume. As was the case with all previous volumes in the Death And Anti-Death Series By Ria University Press, the anthology includes an Abstracts section that serves as an extended table of contents.
