From the moment those on Earth learned there was a true possibility of time travel, being the first to achieve this goal became the new Space Race. Governments and scientists alike gave little thought to the ramifications. They failed at time travel but succeeded in opening the portals between the parallel worlds of Torlin and Earth. Torlin is a world of humans and human-demon hybrids. Some of these hybrids maintain control of their demon side, retaining their humanity and the ability to transform between human and demon. Others, known as rogue-demons, are evil incarnate. For centuries, a battle for power has raged between the humans and rogue-demons on Torlin. With the opening of the portals, this battle has now spread to Earth. Every full-moon, when the portal between these two worlds opens, the rogue-demons storm through to inflict their reign of terror on the inhabitants of Earth. Those from Torlin who track down and kill these gargoyle-like demons are known as Demon-Hunters. Many from this elite fighting force now call Earth home. These men and women spend most of their days training the few from Earth who posses the necessary skills to become a Demon-Hunter. This new combined team works together against a never ending evil. Demon Spell is a short story showing the beginning of the relationship between Midnight Goodman and Natalie O'Hara. You will learn how they came to be a team and the event that brought them closer than work partners should be. Midnight Goodman is a Demon-Hunter from the parallel world of Torlin. Natalie O'Hara is a weapons developer from Earth. When these two team up to create a better and more dependable weapons for use on Earth, against the demon invasion, sparks fly - and not necessarily in a good way. Forced into a situation out of their control they must field test a weapon Natalie feels isn't ready. What should be a simple night of hunting demons and testing the latest prototype quickly turns into a battle for their lives, with each willing to sacrifice themselves for the other. In Demon Magic we see the continuation of Midnight and Natalie's building relationship both as work and romantic partners. But as in all relationships the pair doesn't always see eye-to-eye and at times they aren't even sure they like each other. But once it becomes obvious Natalie's life is in danger, Midnight learns how deep his feelings run for the woman who drives him to the brink of craziness. Natalie is a trained Demon-Hunter and despite her training she's not scared of the demon inside of Midnight. Which is a good thing because Midnight is the only person she can turn to when she's being followed by a strange man and tracked by a terrifying demon. Together this mismatched team must unravel the mystery of who is stalking Natalie and why if they want to find their happy ending.
