The Bible from a lay person's point of view, to lay persons who are inquisitive, inquiring or downright doubtful about the value of reading the Bible in the 21st century. The subjects are among the most controversial, maligned and misused topics in the Bible. the content is written in a concise, down to earth style for the average person in the pew. At times it is provocative, sometimes even questioning God. This book hopefully answers many of your nagging doubts and inspires you to keep reading and using the Bible, as a source of great serenity and spiritual fulfillment. I may be just a laymen and don't have any fancy letters after my name, but that doesn't mean I am not learned. I have a BS from the University of Phoenix. I am retired from the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. I am a Certified Lay Servant in the United Methodist Church.; a position I have held seen 1988. I have done everything from preaching, leading Bible Study to making the coffee and generally just helped out and supported the church in local, district and conference venues. Presently, I am the Recording Secretary for the United Methodist Men of the New York Annual Conference.I have been married to my wife, Theresa, a truly dedicated Christian woman, since 1983 and we have two adult sons. I'm looking forward to getting back to gardening and crossword puzzles.
