Sawyer Brown's lead singer Mark Miller has such a distinctive voice that fans may not be aware the other band members can sing as well. DRIVE ME WILD, the band's 16th release, finds the band stretching their limits, making for an inventive new sound. While harmonies aren't exactly what the band is known for, DRIVE ME WILD is full of them. Tracks like the instantly hummable "Playin' A Love Song" and the Beach Boys-esque "Moon Over Miami" are great songs, but they're also showcases for some sophisticated vocal arrangements featuring Miller, keyboard player Hobie Hubbard and guitarist Duncan Cameron. There are also plenty of signature Sawyer Brown songs on DRIVE ME WILD. The title track and "All Wound Up" have the energy of earlier hits like "Some Girls Do," while the ballad "I'm In Love With Her" recalls the poignancy of "All These Years." Other standouts include "It All Comes Down To Love" and "Soul Searchin'"--two introspective yet upbeat songs about the true meaning of life. And for something completely different, check out "800 Pound Jesus"--a truly unique song that'll give you both giggles and goosebumps. DRIVE ME WILD proves that after 15 years together, Sawyer Brown continues to evolve.
