Rori Cahill is shot by a Russian assassin at The Black Sow bar. She returns the favor, but lay in a pool of blood. Surviving is part of her makeup, but a gunshot wound isn't her only problem. She now has to contend with the chief of police manufacturing evidence to put her in jail for the rest of her life. "Dying in D.C." introduces three new characters. Lieutenant Chris Perley, who takes an interest in Aunt Charley; a half-brother, Balsey, that Rori knows nothing about; and his friend, Brash, who is a bit mysterious. The three do whatever they can to protect her. Warren Willowdale is hiding his illness, and the medication he takes makes him delusional. With the help of his friend Churchill Brewer, a billionaire, they continue their quest to take over the Presidency of the United States. Hansen Baldwin was handpicked as their candidate. With little thought about why they chose him or what it meant, Baldwin is happy to move to the top of the food chain. He suspects nothing until the final push to the election. When he discovers Willowdale and Churchill's plot to kill him, Baldwin enlists the help of a new friend, Austin Garcia, Willowdale's former campaign manager and confidante. "Dying in D.C." concludes the story of the Willowdale Conspiracy. Survival is optional.
