William Walker Atkinson (1862-1932) was an American writer, publisher, and occultist who is best known for his contributions to the New Thought movement. He authored over 100 books under various pseudonyms, including "Yogi Ramacharaka," "Theron Q. Dumont," and "Magus Incognito."
Atkinson started his career as a lawyer in Chicago but eventually turned to writing and publishing. He became interested in the teachings of New Thought and Theosophy, and started to incorporate these ideas into his writing. He wrote on a variety of topics including mental and spiritual development, personal magnetism, and the occult.
As Yogi Ramacharaka, Atkinson wrote a series of books on Hatha Yoga and Raja Yoga. As Theron Q. Dumont, he wrote on the topics of personal magnetism, willpower, and thought force. And as Magus Incognito, he wrote on the subject of the occult and esoteric knowledge.
Atkinson's works have had a lasting impact on the New Thought movement and have influenced the development of modern self-help and personal development literature. Despite his prolific output, Atkinson's true identity as the author of many of his books was not revealed until after his death.
