Vols. 1. To III. Contain the Official narratives of the voyages round the world of Byron, Wallis, and Carteret, and Cook's first voyage, edited by Dr. Hawkes worth Vols. IV. And V., Cook's second voyage towards the South Pole and VI., VII and VIII., the third voyage of Cook to the N. W. Coast of America and Behring Strait, continued by Clerke and Gore; the last volume containing account of the Sandwich Islands and of the death of Cook from Capt. King's Journal. The Atlas contains a large chart by Roberts, and the larger plates illustrating the third voyage. New South Wales was discovered in the first voyage; New Zealand was Visited and surveyed in all three voyages, as well as Tahiti and other groups.
