. The young Inés Ramírez, a bookstore owner whose husband has just died, must now head the family business. She soon discovers that her husband had the key to the only copy of a forbidden book, one whose disappearance had been ordered by the Church and by those with political power centuries ago.
With the help of Pierre Arbús, a French printing officer, she starts her investigation. Though all of it, she will have to deal with all kinds of characters: master printers, scholars, criminals, and royals. And all under the omnipresent shadow of the Inquisition, which seeks to control all thoughts and communications, and Felipe II’s strict censorship.
