Elements of Piano Technique and Applied Theory is a 12-book comprehensive series (Volumes: 1a, 1b, 1c, 2a, 2b, 2c, 3a, 3b, 3c, 4a, 4b, 4c) that covers 44 different elements and spans Late Elementary to Advanced levels. It can be used as a supplement to any curriculum or in conjunction with any method book series. Book 3a (63 pages) covers Major and Minor Scales and Arpeggios in 1-4 Octaves, The Grand Scale and Inverted Grand Scale Patterns, Chromatic Scales in 3rds/6ths/10ths, and Major and Minor Scales in 3rds/6ths/10ths, in 4 Units. Each unit contains theoretical discussions of each element, so students understand what they are practicing. Most importantly, in all units there are 5-10 different preparatory exercises which help a student understand how to practice each element. There is also a checklist included at the end of every book so students can track progress and set tempo related goals.
