Max Hefler is a fourteen year old 8th grader at Lincoln Middle School. Max is overweight, awkward, and shy. He is also very intelligent, funny and caring. He lives with his single, loving mother in their small apartment. While Max's home can be a warm, caring place, school is not. He is relentlessly bullied by Colin Culler and his posse on a daily basis.
Enough follows Max through one fateful day at Lincoln. On this day, he learns to stand up for himself thanks to a new found connection—a kind old janitor with a troubled past. Unfortunately, it soon becomes clear that Max isn't Colin's only victim. When another student reaches his breaking point, tragedy strikes. After much soul searching, and some sound advice, Max learns how to deal with the bullies in his life and come to terms with what he needs to do to be truly happy.
