Vicki and Susan Leath have been raised by parents who are alcoholics and a mother addicted to drugs. They are both high school students with few friends and virtually no money. Susan graduates and leaves home with a very poor choice of a mate. Shortly after that, she is sold into slavery. Vicki searches for her sister and unfortunately finds her. By doing this she is captured and placed into slavery herself. They must endure beatings, forced labor, sexual abuse, and humiliation. They are sold to Mexicans who treat them the same as their former master, until one night Vicki finds a way for her sister and she to escape. Even once away from the slavers, their minds don't let them be free. It takes the efforts of a psychologist and an unusual solution devised by Vicki to achieve true freedom.
