«Cuando le dije a mi abuela Maruja que iba a hacer un cómic basado en su vida, me respondió que mejor escribiera una historia de amor. Cuando le dije lo mismo a mi abuela Herminia, se alegró mucho y me dijo "Sí, claro, nena.", así que, grabadora en mano, me fui a ver a mi abuela Maruja para que me explicara, por ejemplo, lo que escondía ese cuadro de flores y el porqué de su obsesión por la cocina. Después visité a mi abuela Herminia y descubrí la importancia de su abuela Hermenegilda y las causas de ese aire bohemio tan peculiar.
