Facebook is undeniably a social media financial success story. As proof, Mark Zuckerberg dropped out of Harvard without ever finishing a college degree, yet he and his co-inventors are billionaires. Facebook allows anyone with a connection to the Internet to reconnect with friends, family, classmates, and long lost childhood friends no matter how far away they are, no matter what roads life has taken them down. It's an amazing way to strengthen existing bonds, renew old ones, and forge new ones. To me, posting on Facebook is somewhat akin to writing a public diary. is a small part of my "public diary," capturing in book form some of the personal moods and musings I've posted on Facebook over the last ten years. As with handwritten diaries, not every entry is meaningful to every reader. Even so, perhaps my "diary" will evoke memories in some, cause some to think, and amuse yet others.
