This book contains a couple short stories and poems that were first published in the Christian Sci-Fi Journal. "I went down to the crossroads..." is a tale of someone retracing the steps of Robert Johnson, and what he actually found down at the crossroads! The title story, "Fairies: The Atrium" is the tale of a genetic experiment gone wrong. The narrator details of what started out as a science fair project in middle school, but grew into his post graduate and ultimately life work. His genetic creation of diminutive creatures he dubs "fairies," grows from a couple little people into a whole society of creatures complete with all of the social problems that humans face. When he genetically develops the perfect creature to teach the rest of his "children" how to live, something goes terribly wrong, and his atrium will never be the same... Included in this volume are several poems that were also published in the Christian Sci-Fi Journal.
