Carly and Duncan have loved each other for years, but there is an ocean separating them and obligations continually keep them apart. Carly cannot leave her cousin during her illness. Duncan will not consider living anywhere but his Highland home. An old infatuation has turned into an obsession that threatens Carly's state of mind and Logan is offered hope that he might escape a lifetime sentence of being wheelchair bound.
Surrounding Carly are so many memories of her youth in Mineola - decendants of her grandmother's friends still live on Oak Street and now their lives are intermingling as their families grow and expand into what will be the future generations of those raised in Carly's town.
