Fetu Afahye is an annual festival celebrated in September by the chiefs and people of Cape Coast in the Central region of Ghana, West Africa. Many people believe that the origin of the festival is rooted in the "efin tu" or "dirt cleansing" rituals that were common a long time ago. The week long occasion is the medium for families to get together and to celebrate the procession of chiefs and other traditional rulers, to witness libation pouring, animal sacrifice, durbar procession and church services. Nowadays, the festival is a popular tourist attraction.
