The story continues as Kara, a powerful sorcerous, finally makes the decision to help Raven in a way that can change everything. He does not yet have the skills he needs to protect himself and those he is fighting with and for. She talks with a friend from the Fortress of Zin who agrees to train Raven so that he can at least protect himself from other warriors who currently have greater skills than he does. One of Pernius predictions becomes apparent and Raven is put in a very uncomfortable situation. Love lost, love gained while lifelong friends and enemies are made. When he returns to Kalandra it is evident that his time at the Fortress had changed him in ways that no one ever expected.
