The future is much like now. High school girls still talk about boys and worry about their image. Wars have ended and there is relative peace in the world, as much as can be expected. Yet this is just the quiet before the storm. A storm that Eri Lee, an average American girl, finds herself stuck in the middle of. Instead of worrying about what boy will ask her out and what to wear to school, Eri finds herself held hostage in her own home by a group calling themselves the Reformers and they have great plans for her family. The Lee family must decide what is more important your family or your community? Choosing their family, the Lees must hide and protect the Reforms while they create devastating plans for the United States. However Eri must wonder if it was the right choice as her siblings and she face the punishments and "rewards" of the soldiers while she tries to hide the bruises and scars from her friends and teachers. All Eri wants is be a normal teenager, but it does not seem possible as she becomes tied closer to the soldiers, not only physically but emotionally.
