: is the third in the Frank Merriwell Series. Frank has received a strange letter from his Uncle Asher asking him to come home ASAP. His uncle has seen a ghost of his brother, Frank's father, who has been dead for quite a long time. Frank confronts the "ghost," only to learn it is his father in real life, searching for a ring that will lead to a treasure. Meanwhile, Frank and his buddies participate in a track and field meet at Fardale, survive a shipwreck and save one of Frank's girl friends who is trapped in a burning house. Whew!
