After recovering from that adventure, she and Walter travel to another port of call-Newport, Rhode Island-this time to track an assassin, under the pretense of visiting Walter's beloved aunt. There, Tangie and Walter become entangled in a complex web of political deceit and corruption that threatens to extinguish their lives as well as the lives of their friends and their beloved Aunt Hattie. Their involvement in this undertaking becomes complicated, as they have no tangible proof of corruption and assassination beyond Tangie's word, her visions and her psychic abilities, which even she begins to doubt.
